Concrete, concrete coatings and other and concrete materials are pull-tested in tensile mode to establish the bond or tensile strength. Most specifications require the use of a Ø50mm (2 inch) disc (test element) glued to the concrete surface. Other standards specify the smaller Ø20mm test element.
Tensile Pull Testing can either be done manually or automatically. Some of the testing standards emphasize that the speed of tensile force increase has to be constant and within specified minimum and maximum values and also consistent from test to test. In these cases the automatic testing machine is the ideal choice.
The following adhesion testing models are available:
1) Manual testing
GM01/6.3kN
A testing unit designed for tensile testing of very fragile concrete or other materials. Testing range up to 3.2MPa/450psi with Ø50mm test element (which is rather low for most types of concrete). The same testing head (6.3kN) is also used for most paints and protective coatings.
GM04/20kN
For manual tensile testing up to 10MPa/1450psi with Ø50mm test element. (Many concrete types have tensile strength higher than 10 MPa.)
GM04/40kN
The most versatile manual tensile pull tester. Testing range up to 20MPa/2900psi with Ø50mm test element. This will cover all normal types of concrete.
2) Automatic Tensile Pull Testing
AT101E/6.3kN
An automatic testing unit designed for tensile testing of very fragile concrete or other materials. Testing range up to 3.2MPa/450psi with Ø50mm test element (which is rather low for most types of concrete). The same testing head (6.3kN) is also used for most paints and protective coatings.
AT101E/20kN
For automatic tensile testing up to 10MPa/1450psi with Ø50mm test element. (Many concrete types have tensile strength higher than 10 MPa.)
AT101E/40kN
The most versatile automatic concrete tensile pull tester. Testing range up to 20MPa/2900psi with Ø50mm test element. This will cover all normal types of concrete.
